Laura Linney was one of the greatest American actors to emerge from the past. Her strong and vulnerable roles have earned her a cult famous. Her father was a celebrated playwright, but she was raised as an all-only child with a single mother, a nurse. Through the summer months, while with her dad Linney discovered a love for theater. Her first stage experience was first in Brown University then at Juilliard School. Her Broadway career after her graduation, and then made her debut on television the following year. In the years since, she's appeared in countless films and TV and stage productions. She's been nominated for three Academy Awards, five Tony Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards (including two Golden Globe Awards), and has won numerous awards throughout her career. While she has received numerous awards throughout her career, theatre is always her main interest.
