Emily Irene VanCamp was born in Canada. She is an actress that has appeared in multiple television series. She also excels in the world of film. The actress is well-known on Canadian and American television. Emily started acting when she was 12 when she was visiting her sister Katie on one of Katie's films. When she realized her love in acting, she began taking acting classes, and then going for auditions. At first, she was able to land a couple of commercials, and then was selected for the Canadian children's horror television series Are You Afraid of the Dark? In one single scene she appeared without speaking any words. When she was fifteen, Emily made her big breakthrough when she became an official character on the WB TV program Glory Days. The show ended up being cancelled after nine episodes Emily's performance was noticed by Dawson's Creek writer Greg Berlanti who cast her in his television show Everwood.
